Stage 1 tuning software
Re-optimised boost, fueling and timing maps within OEM safety margins. Typically +20-30% HP on diesel turbo, +10-20% on petrol turbo, +3-7% on petrol NA.
Typical symptoms / why workshops apply Stage 1
- Want more power without hardware mods
- Need to match a tune to lighter wheels / better fuel
- OEM calibration left obvious headroom (most diesels do)
What Softechpro V5 actually patches when you select Stage 1
- Re-maps the boost target table (turbo engines).
- Re-maps the fuel quantity / injector duration table.
- Re-maps the ignition / injection timing table.
- Adjusts torque limiter to allow the new output.
- Auto-checksum.
ECU families supported for Stage 1
All supported Bosch, Siemens / Continental, Delphi, Magneti Marelli platforms.
5-step workflow
- Read out your ECU bin file via OBD or bench (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher).
- Open Softechpro V5 and drop the .bin / .ori / .hex / .s19 / .frf onto the workspace. Softechpro auto-identifies the ECU family from the header signature.
- Select Stage 1 from the service tab.
- Hit Save patched .bin. The ECU-specific checksum is recomputed automatically.
- Flash the patched file back via your existing flasher. Reset adaptations via the OEM scan tool if required.
Legal notice
Power-increase tuning is illegal on EU road-registered vehicles without re-homologation. Off-road, motorsport and export markets only.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stage 1 safe on a healthy engine?
Yes, when applied within OEM safety margins on a healthy engine with clean intake, working turbo, and fresh oil. A tired turbo or carboned intake will limit the gain.
Will my warranty be void?
Almost certainly yes — any OEM diagnostic scan will detect the modified calibration via its checksum. Off-road and motorsport vehicles outside warranty are the typical use case.
