Digital Delivery Policy

At a Glance — Delivery Is Automatic and Immediate
Softechpro is 100% digital. There is no box, no USB dongle, no courier, and no licence key to type in. What you buy is access attached to the account with the email address you paid with.
- ✅ Delivery time: seconds. Stripe confirms the payment, our server activates your account automatically. No human touches it.
- ✅ We do not hold orders for manual review. There is no risk-check queue that delays your access.
- ✅ Where to find it: log in and open your profile — the plan, the expiry date and the Download Software button are all there.
- ✅ Confirmation email + invoice PDF arrive right after, with your Order ID.
- ✅ You test the software before you pay, not after. See section 9.
One PC per licence. The software binds to the first machine you launch it on (HWID). That binding is what makes activation instant — and it is why we ask you to install it on the machine you actually work on.
1. What You Are Actually Buying
You are buying a digital licence bound to one workstation, plus the online services attached to it. You are not buying a physical product and you are not buying a file you own forever. Concretely, a purchase gives you:
- The Windows application — the desktop tool that reads your ECU file, identifies the ECU and applies the module patches (DPF, EGR, AdBlue, DTC and the rest of the emissions and diagnostics set).
- Your account entitlement — the plan type, the daily patch limit and, where applicable, the expiry date. This lives on our server, not inside the installer.
- The web panel at softechpro-solutions.com/modules, which runs the same solution engine from the browser using the same account.
- Tuning credits, if you bought them (€10.00 each). Credits are a separate balance for power tuning and premium services. They never expire and they are delivered to your balance in the same automatic step.
Because the entitlement lives on the account, the installer alone is worthless to anyone else and a stolen or forwarded email cannot be used to steal your access. It also means you never have to hunt for a licence key: there isn't one. You log in, and the software knows who you are.
2. What Happens the Moment You Pay
We would rather tell you exactly how this works than say “delivery is instant” and leave you guessing. The chain is:
- Stripe confirms the payment. Your card is authenticated (3D Secure where your bank supports it) and Stripe notifies our server through the checkout.session.completed webhook, normally within a second or two.
- Our server activates the account registered to the email address on the payment. It writes the plan, the daily patch limit and the expiry, resets your daily counter to zero, and credits any tuning credits or cloud files included in the purchase.
- A second, independent check runs in your browser. When Stripe returns you to our success page, that page calls /api/checkout/verify-session, which asks Stripe directly whether the session is paid and applies the same activation. This is the safety net for the rare case where the webhook is delayed or lost.
- Both paths are idempotent. They are locked to the Stripe session ID and the Stripe event ID, so a purchase can never be applied twice — you cannot be double-credited, and a retry from Stripe cannot double-charge your entitlement.
- The confirmation email goes out with your Order ID and your invoice PDF attached. The same invoice stays downloadable from your profile under your orders.
That is the whole delivery. There is no packing, no queue, no business-hours dependency. It works at 03:00 on a Sunday exactly as it works on a Tuesday morning.
2.1 If You Paid With an Email That Had No Account
It happens — you check out as a guest, or Stripe autofills a different address than the one you registered with. We do not lose the purchase. Our server creates the account for that email automatically and attaches the licence to it.
That account has no password yet, so the login form will not let you in. Go to Forgot password, enter the exact email you paid with, set a password, and everything is waiting for you inside. If you would rather have the licence moved onto your existing account, write to support@softechpro-solutions.com with both addresses and your Order ID and we will move it.
3. How You Get the Software
The installer is not attached to the email and it is not a public link that can be forwarded around. You download it from inside your account:
- Log in at softechpro-solutions.com/login with the email you paid with.
- Open your profile and click Download Software (direct link: profile.html#download).
- The button calls a protected endpoint, /api/download/software, which checks your licence before it serves the installer. If your licence is not active, it returns an error instead of a file — that is by design.
- Run the installer, launch the application, and sign in with the same email and password. Your PC is bound on that first launch.
Two things you can consult before or after buying, without logging in: the supported ECU list (PDF) and the supported DTC list (PDF). Coverage is what determines whether the product is useful to you, so we publish it openly rather than hiding it behind checkout.
4. If Nothing Arrives
Activation happens in seconds, so if you still have no access ten minutes after paying, something specific is wrong — and it is almost always one of five things. Work down this list in order:
- Check that you are logged in with the same email you paid with. This is the number one cause. Compare it letter by letter against the email address on your Stripe receipt.
- Reload your profile page (a hard refresh). The page caches your plan; the licence may already be active behind a stale screen.
- If that email had no account, set a password through Forgot password — see section 2.1.
- Check spam and promotions for the confirmation email. Business mail servers are the usual culprit. Add our address to your safe senders.
- Write to support@softechpro-solutions.com from the address you paid with, attaching the Stripe receipt or the Order ID. We re-run the activation manually against the Stripe session and confirm back to you.
To be straight with you: there is no self-service “resend my delivery email” button, and you do not need one. The email is a receipt, not the product. Your licence is on your account, so the recovery path is always the account — log in, or reset the password — not the inbox. If you truly cannot get in, one message to support fixes it; we answer within 24 hours and usually much faster.
5. The 24-Hour Pass — How the Clock Really Works
The 24-Hour Pass (€19, one payment) is the one product where delivery and expiry are the same conversation, so here is the exact behaviour:
- The clock starts when the payment clears, not when you install, and it runs for 24 real hours — it is wall-clock time, not 24 hours of usage.
- It expires by itself. There is no subscription behind it, nothing renews, and there is nothing for you to cancel. When the 24 hours are up, access simply stops.
- Time stacks. If you buy another pass while the first one is still running, the new 24 hours are added on top of the time you have left instead of replacing it. Two passes bought back to back give you 48 hours. You never lose paid time by buying early.
- Limit: 15 module patches per day, on one PC.
- When it expires, the download stops too. The pass is a day of access, not a permanent copy of the software. Buy another pass or a plan and everything comes straight back — same account, same PC binding, nothing to reinstall.
6. Subscription Renewals
On the monthly plan (€75) and the annual plan (€679), delivery repeats itself automatically. When Stripe collects the renewal, our server extends your licence to the new period end and resets your daily counter the same night — you do not re-download anything and you do not re-activate anything.
Two details worth knowing, because they affect access:
- A failed renewal payment does not revoke you immediately. Stripe retries over several days. We deliberately leave your licence and your PC binding alone during those retries, because most failed cards are simply expired ones. Access is only withdrawn if the subscription ends up cancelled.
- Cancelling stops future renewals only. The period you already paid for runs to its end date, and the software keeps working until then.
7. Windows Requirements and Your Antivirus
Before you install:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. Windows 7, Windows 8 and macOS are not supported.
- An antivirus / Windows Defender exclusion for the application folder.
- A working internet connection for licence verification. File processing is local, but the licence check is online.
- Install it on the machine you work on — the first launch binds the licence to that PC.
About the antivirus warning, honestly: expect one. Any tool that opens a firmware binary and rewrites bytes inside it looks, to a heuristic scanner, exactly like the thing scanners are built to stop. It is a false positive, and it is universal across this industry — every serious tuning tool on the market hits it.
We ship a helper for it: ALLOW-SOFTECHPRO-ANTIVIRUS.bat, included with the software and also available here. Run it as administrator and it adds the application folder to the Windows Defender exclusion list. If your workshop uses a third-party suite or a locked-down company policy, add the folder manually or ask your IT administrator. A blocked antivirus is not a product fault — but write to us anyway and we will get it running with you. Our support does not stop until the software runs on your machine.
8. HWID Binding — One PC per Licence
The first time you sign in from the desktop application, it reads a hardware fingerprint of that machine (the HWID) and binds your licence to it. From then on the licence works on that PC and only that PC. Virtual machines are not supported: a VM reports different hardware, so it reads as a different computer rather than as your bench PC. Working on your own licensed machine through TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Remote Desktop is fine and changes nothing — the fingerprint belongs to the machine, not to how you are sitting in front of it.
Reinstalling Windows or reinstalling the application on the same machine costs nothing. Moving your licence to a different machine is the €55.99 HWID change — payable directly from the sign-in screen, with the unlock applied automatically the moment payment is confirmed. If a Windows update or a hardware repair changed your fingerprint without you moving anywhere, that is a false trigger — tell us and we reset it free of charge.
Once the licence has been bound and used, that part of the service has genuinely been delivered. This is stated plainly because it matters for refunds: an HWID transfer already performed cannot be undone.
9. You Test Before You Pay, Not After
Software that is delivered and activated the second you pay cannot be handed back. That is why we put the test before the payment instead of promising a refund after it.
Instant activation is a convenience we built for you, not a trap we set for you. Softechpro comes with a free 15-minute trial before you buy, with no justification required — and downloading the software, activating it, binding your PC and processing files does not void it. Read the full terms in our Refund Policy.
You can also remove the risk before you ever pay: every new account gets a free 15-minute trial with full access, no card required, granted once per machine. Load one of your own ECU files, confirm your vehicles are covered, and decide afterwards. That is a far better test than any promise on a sales page.
Once a payment is made it is final: subscriptions, tuning credits, Cloud Tuning jobs, the 24-Hour Pass and HWID changes are not refunded, in whole or in part. Cancelling a subscription stops the next charge and nothing else — the period you have already paid runs to its normal end. Section 5 of the Refund Policy sets that out in detail.
10. If Delivery Fails on Our Side
If the fault is ours — a server outage, an activation that never applied, a download that will not serve — we do not hide behind “digital goods are final”. Write to support@softechpro-solutions.com with your Order ID. We check our own activation, webhook and download logs, and then we do one of three things: fix it, extend your licence by the time you lost, or refund you. Which one is your call, not ours.
If a cloud tuning job fails on our side, your credit is returned to your balance automatically. If it is not, tell us and we return it by hand.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. Changes are never retroactive: the version in force on the day of your purchase governs that purchase. This page sits alongside our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, ECU Policy and Privacy Policy, and by purchasing or activating a Softechpro licence you confirm you have read them.
Something did not arrive? Write to support@softechpro-solutions.com with your Order ID and the email you paid with — a person reads it, and delivery problems go to the front of the queue.
