5-step workflow

  1. Read out your ECU bin file via OBD or bench (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher).
  2. Open Softechpro V5 and drop the .bin / .ori / .hex / .s19 / .frf onto the workspace. Softechpro auto-identifies the ECU family from the header signature.
  3. Select DPF OFF from the service tab.
  4. Hit Save patched .bin. The ECU-specific checksum is recomputed automatically.
  5. Flash the patched file back via your existing flasher. Reset adaptations via the OEM scan tool if required.

Legal notice

DPF removal is illegal on EU road-registered vehicles (Regulation 2018/858). Off-road, motorsport and export markets only.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to physically remove the DPF too?

For best results yes — once the ECU stops requesting regen, soot continues to accumulate in the filter. Most workshops physically gut the DPF housing or replace it with a flow-through pipe before applying the calibration patch.

Will the MOT / TÜV pass with DPF off?

No. DPF off is for off-road / motorsport / export markets only. EU road-registered vehicles must keep DPF functional under Regulation 2018/858.

Which flasher do I need to write the patched file?

Softechpro outputs the original file format — flash with whatever tool reads your ECU (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher, etc.).
