SERVICE · DPF OFF
DPF OFF software
Disable DPF regeneration, soot monitoring and backpressure DTCs at the ECU calibration level — after physically removing or gutting the DPF for off-road / motorsport use.
Typical symptoms / why workshops apply DPF OFF
- Failed regeneration MIL
- Forced regen at every drive cycle
- Limp mode after a clogged DPF
- Power loss + restricted RPM
- Differential pressure sensor fault
- Black soot exhaust on cold start
What Softechpro V5 actually patches when you select DPF OFF
- Disables soot accumulation reading.
- Disables active and passive regeneration request.
- Disables differential pressure sensor monitoring.
- Disables exhaust temperature sensor monitoring (T4/T5).
- Suppresses the back-pressure DTC trigger window.
- Recomputes the ECU-specific checksum (Bosch CRC, Delphi sum, Siemens hash) so the file flashes without integrity failure.
ECU families supported for DPF OFF
DTC codes commonly cleared by DPF OFF
5-step workflow
- Read out your ECU bin file via OBD or bench (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher).
- Open Softechpro V5 and drop the .bin / .ori / .hex / .s19 / .frf onto the workspace. Softechpro auto-identifies the ECU family from the header signature.
- Select DPF OFF from the service tab.
- Hit Save patched .bin. The ECU-specific checksum is recomputed automatically.
- Flash the patched file back via your existing flasher. Reset adaptations via the OEM scan tool if required.
Legal notice
DPF removal is illegal on EU road-registered vehicles (Regulation 2018/858). Off-road, motorsport and export markets only.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to physically remove the DPF too?
For best results yes — once the ECU stops requesting regen, soot continues to accumulate in the filter. Most workshops physically gut the DPF housing or replace it with a flow-through pipe before applying the calibration patch.
Will the MOT / TÜV pass with DPF off?
No. DPF off is for off-road / motorsport / export markets only. EU road-registered vehicles must keep DPF functional under Regulation 2018/858.
Which flasher do I need to write the patched file?
Softechpro outputs the original file format — flash with whatever tool reads your ECU (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher, etc.).
