Bolt Pattern (PCD) Calculator

Find a wheel PCD from the adjacent-stud distance, and convert mm to inch.

Convert a known PCD

How it works

1

Count the lugs

4, 5, 6 or 8-stud wheels each use a different geometry formula.

2

Measure adjacent studs

Measure centre-to-centre between two neighbouring studs in mm.

3

Get the PCD

We compute the pitch circle diameter, e.g. 5x112 or 5x114.3.

Frequently asked questions

What does 5x112 mean?

5 studs on a 112 mm pitch circle diameter (PCD). The first number is the lug count, the second is the diameter of the circle the studs sit on.

How do I measure a 5-lug PCD?

Measure the distance between the centres of two adjacent studs, then the calculator divides by sin(36 deg) to get the PCD. For 4 and 6-lug you can also measure straight across opposite studs.

Are 5x112 and 5x114.3 interchangeable?

No. Even a 2 mm PCD difference will not bolt up safely; you need the exact pattern or proper PCD-changing adapters.
