Sound & Experience
A lopey, aggressive idle that mimics a big-cam engine.
Also known as: lumpy idle · lopey idle · rough idle · race idle · cammed idle · idle rumble · choppy idle · sport idle
A deep or lumpy idle recalibrates idle target, ignition timing and fuelling so the engine loses its perfectly smooth tick-over and takes on a lopey, race-car rumble similar to a big camshaft. It's purely a sound/character change made in the ECU idle maps, adds no power, and is popular on petrol muscle and turbo cars for the auditory effect. Set too aggressively it can affect drive-away smoothness, so intensity is dialled in.
Softechpro Solutions applies emissions/diagnostic modules (DPF, EGR, AdBlue, DTC off, swirl flaps) automatically and supports Stage power and character features via credits, correcting the checksum across ~1,400 firmwares — on Windows & macOS.
