Aftermarket Diagnostic Scanner
PyRen is a free, open-source Python application that brings Renault-group diagnostics to inexpensive ELM327 adapters. Using the manufacturer's DDT ECU description databases, it lets users select modules and read/clear fault codes, view and log live parameters, run command tests, and access configuration and service routines on Renault, Dacia, and some Nissan vehicles. Because it is script-based and cross-platform, it appeals to technically inclined owners who want Clip-like access without dealer hardware, and it can run on modest machines including Linux and Raspberry Pi setups. Functionality mirrors the DDT data it loads, so coverage tracks the community-maintained database. Like other DDT-based tools it can write configuration values, so users are expected to understand what they are changing.
PyRen provides OBD diagnostics and coding for Renault; Softechpro Solutions is a separate file-level tool that applies DPF/EGR/DTC-off modules and Stage tuning with automatic checksum correction to a read ECU image.
