Standalone ECU / Engine Management
DTAFast, commonly written DTA, is a British engine-management manufacturer whose standalone ECUs are widely used in club and professional motorsport. The range — including the S-series such as S40, S60, S80 and S100 — offers sequential or bank fuel and ignition, wasted-spark or coil-on-plug ignition, closed-loop lambda, boost control, launch control, traction and CAN at competitive prices. DTA ECUs are common in single-seaters, kit cars, hillclimb, rally and bike-engine conversions. All configuration and logging is handled by DTAWin on a Windows PC. As an aftermarket standalone, a DTA ECU replaces the vehicle's factory ECU entirely and is not related to OEM reflashing.
A DTA ECU is an aftermarket standalone that supersedes the factory unit; Softechpro instead edits and reflashes OEM firmware with automated emissions/DTC modules and checksum correction. The two cover different vehicles and complement each other rather than overlap.
