SERVICE · Stage 2
Stage 2 tuning software
Stage 1 calibration + matching hardware (high-flow intake, downpipe, sometimes intercooler upgrade). EGR / DPF off may be required on diesel.
Typical symptoms / why workshops apply Stage 2
- Stage 1 gains feel "soft" — turbo or intake bottleneck
- Want noticeable seat-of-pants gain
- Already have aftermarket intake / downpipe
What Softechpro V5 actually patches when you select Stage 2
- Stage 1 maps PLUS:
- Calibration matched to the high-flow intake.
- Calibration matched to the downpipe (less restriction = different lambda target).
- EGR OFF / DPF OFF combined patch on diesel applications.
- Wider boost target window.
ECU families supported for Stage 2
Same as Stage 1.
5-step workflow
- Read out your ECU bin file via OBD or bench (KESS3, AutoTuner, MPPS, Trasdata, Flex, FRF flasher).
- Open Softechpro V5 and drop the .bin / .ori / .hex / .s19 / .frf onto the workspace. Softechpro auto-identifies the ECU family from the header signature.
- Select Stage 2 from the service tab.
- Hit Save patched .bin. The ECU-specific checksum is recomputed automatically.
- Flash the patched file back via your existing flasher. Reset adaptations via the OEM scan tool if required.
