Standalone ECU / Engine Management
Vi-PEC was the performance ECU brand of New Zealand's Link Engine Management, sharing hardware and firmware with Link's i-series before the range consolidated under the Link name. Vi-PEC i-series units are fully programmable standalone ECUs tuned with PCLink. They support sequential fuel and ignition, closed-loop lambda, electronic boost control, cam/VVT control, motorsport functions and CAN connectivity, and were offered as both wire-in and vehicle-specific plug-in units. Tuners configure fuel and ignition maps, trigger setup and sensor calibration in PCLink and log data for analysis. Because it is a Link-family product, firmware and features track the equivalent Link G-series ECUs. Like all standalones, it replaces the factory ECU rather than reflashing it.
Vi-PEC/Link standalones are aftermarket ECUs configured in PCLink; Softechpro instead reflashes factory OEM ECUs with automated emissions/DTC and checksum handling. Complementary rather than competing — one for standalone builds, the other for stock-ECU reflash jobs.
