OEM Diagnostic
SPS2 (Service Programming System 2) is General Motors' ECU flash-programming application, the module-reprogramming counterpart to the GDS2 and Tech2 diagnostic tools. Delivered through GM's TIS2Web / SI online portal, it downloads validated calibration files from GM's servers and flashes control modules — engine, transmission, body and others — over a GM MDI/MDI2 or approved passthru interface. It supports reprogramming after module replacement, calibration updates for recalls and service bulletins, and VIN/setup configuration. Dealers and independent GM specialists use SPS2 for factory-correct reflashing that keeps modules matched to the vehicle. It requires a subscription and online authentication for each programming event. SPS2 is the modern web-based evolution of GM's earlier SPS programming workflow.
SPS2 flashes GM modules with factory calibrations; Softechpro operates on an extracted engine file instead — applying DPF/EGR/DTC-off modules and Stage changes and correcting the checksum, not delivering OEM flashes.
