The Pectel SQ6 is a professional motorsport engine control unit from Pectel (Cosworth Electronics heritage, now linked to Life Racing), used in circuit racing, rally and high-end performance applications. It offers high-resolution sequential fuel and ignition control, boost and motorsport strategies, extensive I/O and integrated data logging, calibrated through Pectel's Windows tuning software. Available in variants such as the SQ6 and SQ6M, it was a respected choice for serious race programs needing robust, configurable control and reliable data acquisition. Like its T6 sibling, the SQ6 is a professional-grade unit intended for experienced calibrators and race engineers rather than casual users, and it integrates with wider Pectel/Cosworth motorsport electronics for a cohesive competition data and control package.
The SQ6 is a dedicated motorsport standalone ECU; Softechpro handles factory-ECU work such as emissions modules, DTC-off, Stage maps and checksum correction, so the two serve entirely separate vehicle and tuning categories.
