Data Logging & Analysis
PCM Logger names the data-logging function or companion used alongside GM PCM read/write tools like PCM Hammer, capturing live parameters from the powertrain control module during tuning. Through a J2534 interface it records PIDs such as RPM, MAF/MAP, spark, fuel trims, knock and wideband AFR, so tuners can validate calibration changes and refine VE, spark and fuel tables. Logs are reviewed to spot lean or rich conditions, knock and driveability issues, then fed back into edits. It is part of the read, edit, flash and log loop common in GM LS and similar tuning. As a logger it does not modify the ECU; it observes behavior to guide the next calibration pass.
PCM Logger records how a tune behaves; Softechpro Solutions produces file-level changes such as emissions/DTC modules, Stage maps and checksum correction. Logging and file editing are complementary steps, and Softechpro does not perform live data logging.
