Bench / BSL / Boot ToolAlientechWindows + K-TAG hardware

K-TAG is Alientech's bench and boot-mode ECU programmer, used when a control unit cannot be read through the OBD port. Working via the K-Suite software, it connects directly to the ECU on the bench through boot mode, BDM, JTAG or dedicated protocols and pinouts, reading and writing the microcontroller and flash memory. This gives access to ECUs and TCUs that are OBD-locked or require full-flash access across Bosch, Siemens, Delphi, Marelli and other families. Tuners use K-TAG to obtain a complete original dump, apply modifications such as tuning, emissions or DTC edits with checksum correction, and write it back. It is a staple bench tool in professional shops, complementing the OBD-based KESS.

What K-TAG Tool is used for

Where Softechpro fits

K-TAG physically extracts and writes the ECU dump on the bench; Softechpro then processes that dump, auto-applying emissions and DTC-off modules and recalculating checksums, so it fits directly into a K-TAG bench-tuning workflow without replacing the hardware.
