Immo & Key Programming
The IAW 4AF Tool works with the Magneti Marelli IAW 4AF petrol engine control unit, used on small Fiat-group and PSA petrol engines. It reads and writes the ECU's internal EEPROM and flash to recover the immobilizer PIN, perform immo-off, clone a used ECU onto a replacement unit, or repair a corrupted map after a failed write. Work is done over OBD or on the bench depending on ECU generation and protection. Typical users are ECU repair specialists and auto locksmiths handling lost-key or replacement-ECU jobs where the original module is dead or the key data is unavailable. Because the immobilizer is integrated in the engine ECU on these platforms, correct EEPROM handling and checksum integrity are essential to keep the vehicle starting.
Softechpro is not a key programmer or immo-off tool, so it does not replace the IAW 4AF Tool for immobilizer work. Once you have a clean ECU read, Softechpro can apply DTC-off and emissions modules and auto-correct the checksum on supported Marelli firmwares as the tuning-side companion to this hardware.
