Data Logging & Analysis
VCM Scanner is the datalogging and diagnostics component of HP Tuners' VCM Suite. Connected through an MPVI2/MPVI3 interface, it streams live OEM parameters and wideband inputs, records channels for tune validation, graphs and overlays logs, and reads and clears diagnostic trouble codes. Tuners use it to watch knock retard, fuel trims, boost, air/fuel ratio, and transmission behavior while dialing in a calibration edited in VCM Editor. It supports high-speed CAN logging and custom math channels, and can integrate external inputs such as EGT and wideband controllers. VCM Scanner is standard equipment in North American performance shops working on GM, Ford, and Dodge platforms, and is often left connected during dyno pulls and road tuning to capture data for revisions.
VCM Scanner is a performance-tuning logger for domestic gasoline platforms; Softechpro is diesel-focused module and checksum software. A workshop might use VCM Scanner for logging and Softechpro for EU diesel emissions work.
