Standalone ECU / Engine Management
The FT800 belongs to FuelTech's FT line of standalone engine-management ECUs, positioned toward the high end of the range alongside units like the FT600 and FT700. FuelTech's FT ECUs share a common approach: sequential fuel and ignition control, an integrated colour display, extensive boost/traction/drag strategies, wideband lambda and high-resolution datalogging, all tuned through FTManager and directly on the unit. Aimed at high-power street, drag and motorsport builds, an FT-class unit like this replaces the factory ECU and takes full control of the engine, integrating with FuelTech's ecosystem of ignition modules, dashes and power management. Exact I/O counts and features vary by model within the FT family; as a standalone aftermarket ECU it does not reflash OEM firmware.
Like the rest of the FT line this is a standalone ECU that replaces the factory unit, unlike Softechpro which edits OEM firmware in place — different tools for different build philosophies.
