Standalone ECU / Engine Management
The FT550 is a mid-tier FuelTech standalone engine-management ECU, offering more inputs and outputs than the FT450 while keeping the same FTManager-based tuning workflow and on-unit colour display. It supports sequential fuel and ignition, boost control, wideband lambda, and a broader set of auxiliary functions for more complex builds — additional sensors, outputs and control strategies. The FT550 is popular in higher-spec street, drag and racing applications where the extra channels matter, and integrates with FuelTech peripherals such as ignition modules and dashes. Like the rest of the FT line it is a programmable aftermarket ECU that directly controls the engine rather than modifying an OEM factory ECU.
As a standalone aftermarket ECU the FT550 replaces the factory unit, unlike Softechpro which edits the OEM firmware directly — complementary approaches for a shop that offers both conversion and factory tuning.
