Immo & Key Programming
An EZS Tool works with the Mercedes EZS (Elektronisches Zundschloss), also known as EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) — the module that authenticates the key and controls starting on Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It reads the EZS data to calculate the password, program new keys, perform all-keys-lost, renew a used EZS, and align the EZS with the ELV steering lock, DAS/ECU and other components after a swap. Depending on model and EZS generation (e.g., W204, W211, W212, W906 Sprinter), work is done on the bench or via specialized OBD methods. Users are Mercedes locksmiths and electronics specialists. Because the EZS is the security anchor linking key, steering lock and drivetrain, accurate password calculation and correct component pairing are essential for the car to recognize the key and start.
Softechpro does not program EZS/EIS modules or Mercedes keys, so it does not replace the EZS Tool. On Mercedes work the EZS Tool handles immo/keys while Softechpro can separately apply DTC-off and emissions modules to the engine ECU.
