Data Logging & Analysis
EvoScan is a Windows datalogging application originally built for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and later extended to Subaru vehicles. It reads sensor data in real time over Mitsubishi's MUT diagnostic protocol and OBD-II, plus wideband and analog inputs, letting tuners graph and analyze parameters such as airflow, knock, timing, boost and fuel trims. It is frequently paired with EcuFlash: you flash calibration changes with EcuFlash, then verify them by logging with EvoScan. It supports CSV logging, custom parameter definitions and 2D/3D graphing. Workshops and enthusiasts use EvoScan to validate a tune, hunt knock and confirm AFR targets after ROM edits. It requires a compatible OBD cable or interface and does not itself write to the ECU, functioning purely as a monitoring and analysis tool.
EvoScan validates a tune by logging, while Softechpro works on the firmware side, auto-applying DTC-off and tuning modules and fixing checksums for supported files. They sit at different steps: log with EvoScan, patch the bin with Softechpro, flash with your writer.
