Standalone ECU / Engine Management
Emtron (Australia) builds professional motorsport ECUs — the KV8, KV12 and KV16 — named for the number of injector/ignition drives. Programming these units is done through Emtron's Emtune application, so 'KV Series Software' refers to that tuning workflow. The KV platform targets serious motorsport and high-horsepower builds: it supports sequential injection and ignition, dual drive-by-wire, multi-cam VVT, closed-loop lambda, and motorsport functions such as launch control, anti-lag, traction and gear-cut, plus extensive CAN and high-speed onboard logging. Tuners configure everything in Emtune and log to internal memory. The KV series competes with MoTeC, Life Racing and Syvecs at the top of the aftermarket. It is a full standalone that replaces the factory ECU.
The KV series is top-tier standalone hardware that replaces the OEM ECU; Softechpro instead reflashes factory ECUs with automated emissions/DTC modules, Stage maps and checksum correction. Different workflows entirely — Softechpro complements a standalone shop by covering the stock-ECU jobs.
