ECU Editor / Map Editor
An EDC16 Suite targets Bosch EDC16, the diesel ECU common through the mid-to-late 2000s on VAG, BMW, Mercedes, PSA, Ford, and many others, covering both pump-duse and common-rail engines and typically using Infineon C167CS or early TriCore processors. Tuners use it to edit injection quantity, rail pressure, boost, torque limiters, smoke maps, EGR, and, on equipped variants, DPF-related tables, apply Stage 1 and 2 tuning, and perform DPF/EGR/DTC edits where legal, followed by EDC16 checksum recalculation. Depending on the sub-variant such as EDC16U, C, CP, or C34/35, reading and writing is done over OBD, on the bench, or in boot mode. The suite handles calibration editing while the actual ECU read and write is performed by separate flash or bench equipment.
Softechpro includes many EDC16 firmwares in its roughly 1,400-file catalog and auto-applies DPF/EGR/DTC-off plus Stage tuning with checksum correction, complementing the flash or bench tool that reads and writes the EDC16 ECU.
