Standalone ECU / Engine Management
The Burger Motorsports JB4 is a plug-and-play piggyback tuner that installs inline with factory sensor connectors rather than reflashing the ECU. By intercepting and modifying signals (typically boost/pressure sensors), it raises boost and adjusts fueling and timing behavior to add power, with multiple selectable maps for different fuels and goals. Originally famous on BMW N54/N55, the JB4 is offered for many turbocharged platforms across brands. It can run alone or as a backend companion to a flash tune, and is controlled and monitored through the JB4 Mobile app or a USB connection. Because it is reversible and does not alter the stock tune, it is popular for easy install and removal.
The JB4 adds power without touching the factory calibration, whereas Softechpro edits the ECU firmware directly with emissions and DTC-off modules and checksum correction. They represent opposite tuning philosophies and are not interchangeable.
