JA3

The first three characters of every VIN are the World Manufacturer Identifier (WMI). The code JA3 is assigned to Mitsubishi, with the country of manufacture Japan.

So any 17-character VIN that begins with JA3 was produced by Mitsubishi:

JA3ZZZ0000000000000
