Volvo Tech Tool, also branded Premium Tech Tool, is the Volvo Group's official diagnostic and programming application covering Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Construction Equipment, and Volvo Penta engines. Windows-based and used with a Volvo communication adapter such as the Vocom interface, it reads and clears fault codes, streams live parameters, runs tests and calibrations, and performs ECU programming and parameter programming through Volvo's central systems. Technicians use it for EMS engine control, aftertreatment and SCR, and driveline diagnostics on VNL and FH-series trucks and Mack platforms, plus replacement-unit setup. Operations that require server access are logged and licensed. Tech Tool is an OEM service environment for diagnosis and sanctioned programming rather than aftermarket map editing.
Softechpro edits engine firmware with DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off and checksum correction and complements Volvo Tech Tool, which owns the OEM diagnostic and programming session that Softechpro does not perform.
