Data Logging & Analysis
Vector CANalyzer is an analysis and diagnostics tool for automotive communication networks, used to observe, log and interpret traffic on CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and MOST. Engineers use it to trace and interpret messages using DBC/ARXML databases, send stimulus frames, run CAPL scripts, and troubleshoot bus timing, gateway behavior and ECU communication issues during development, integration and service. It connects through Vector hardware interfaces (VN series) and is a staple for network diagnostics and reverse-engineering of message layouts. CANalyzer is vehicle- and manufacturer-agnostic, working with whatever databases and buses a project defines, and is analysis-focused rather than a calibration or flashing tool.
CANalyzer inspects live network traffic, a diagnostics domain distinct from Softechpro's firmware editing. Softechpro does not analyze buses; it operates on ECU images, so the two tools address separate parts of a workshop's toolkit.
