Immo & Key Programming
The UPA-USB Programmer is a serial memory programmer for reading and writing EEPROM and microcontroller chips found in vehicle modules. It is a long-standing, affordable tool used for immobilizer data, dashboard/odometer EEPROMs, airbag chips and general automotive memory work, supported by a library of adapters and software modules. Locksmiths, dash-repair and module-repair technicians use it to obtain immo/key data, correct mileage and clear or repair module memory. Connections are made via in-circuit adapters, soldering or dedicated sockets. UPA-USB runs on Windows with its own USB device and is commonly one step in a workflow that also involves decoding dumps and programming keys. It targets chip-level access rather than full diagnostics or ECU flashing.
UPA-USB reads immo/dash/airbag chips, which is outside Softechpro's scope. Softechpro's complementary role is editing engine-ECU firmware (DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off) and correcting checksums on supported files.
