Immo & Key Programming
A Toyota Smart Key Tool works with the Toyota and Lexus smart-key (keyless) immobilizer system, handling smart-key registration, adding spare smart keys, and all-keys-lost recovery. Depending on the system generation and its transponder type (such as the H, 4A or earlier G chips and their smart-code boxes), it reads or resets the smart-key ECU/certification module — over OBD or with bench methods — to write new key data and reset immobilizer codes. Some jobs require obtaining a reset/seed code or reading the smart box directly. Users are Toyota/Lexus-focused auto locksmiths servicing Corolla, RAV4, Camry, Land Cruiser and Lexus models. Because the smart system ties the key, certification ECU and engine ECU together, correct registration and code handling are required for the push-start system to recognize the new smart key.
Softechpro does not program Toyota/Lexus smart keys, so it does not replace the Toyota Smart Key Tool. It is used separately for engine-ECU DTC-off and emissions tuning with automatic checksum correction on supported firmwares.
