The TL866 (TL866A, TL866CS and the newer TL866II Plus) is a low-cost USB universal programmer from XGecu, widely known under the MiniPro name. Using ZIF sockets and adapters it reads and writes serial and parallel EEPROMs, NOR flash and many microcontrollers, and can test basic logic ICs. In automotive work it is popular for reading and writing the small 24Cxx, 25xxx and 93xxx EEPROMs found in immobiliser modules, instrument clusters and ECUs, making it a common budget choice for odometer, immo and chip-level repair. Hobbyists, locksmiths and electronics repairers use it for chip dumps and firmware writes. Its large, community-maintained device library keeps it relevant despite the low price.
A budget programmer like the TL866 handles the physical read/write of EEPROM and flash; Softechpro complements it by editing the extracted firmware — emissions and DTC-off modules plus automatic checksum correction — before you reflash the chip.
