Radare2

Hex Editor / Reverse EngineeringRadare project (open source)Windows, macOS, Linux

Radare2 is a free, open-source reverse-engineering framework built around a command-line workflow, with a companion GUI called Cutter. It bundles a disassembler, hex editor, debugger, binary diffing, and extensive scripting through r2pipe in many languages. It supports a large number of architectures and file formats and is highly composable, letting users chain commands and automate analysis. In firmware and ECU study it is used to disassemble code, patch bytes, diff two binaries, and script repetitive investigations. Its keyboard-driven, Unix-philosophy approach has a steep learning curve but rewards power users and researchers who prefer a fully scriptable, no-cost toolkit over a heavyweight GUI suite.

Where Softechpro fits

Radare2 gives researchers a scriptable way to dissect and diff dumps; Softechpro provides the finished, automated tuning and emissions changes with checksum correction, complementing hands-on RE rather than competing with it.
