Standalone ECU / Engine Management
The Omex MAP4000 is a standalone ECU from UK maker Omex, using manifold-absolute-pressure (MAP) load sensing — reflected in its name — which suits turbo and forced-induction as well as naturally aspirated engines. It provides 3D fuel and ignition mapping, configurable rev limits, cold-start and warm-up enrichment, and closed-loop lambda on supported setups, all programmed through Omex ECU Manager over serial/USB. The MAP4000 targets kit cars, classic engine conversions and club motorsport where a cost-effective MAP-based standalone is wanted. Omex offers wiring looms and application support for common engines. As an aftermarket standalone, the MAP4000 replaces the factory ECU and is unrelated to OEM firmware reflashing.
The MAP4000 is a standalone that replaces the OEM ECU; Softechpro reflashes factory firmware and automates emissions/DTC modules with checksum correction. The two never overlap, so a shop can use both across standalone and stock-ECU jobs.
