ECU Flash Tool
The OBDStar DC706 is a compact module-service tool aimed at reading, writing and cloning automotive control units. It operates in several modes — engine ECU, transmission/gearbox, airbag (SRS), body control and instrument cluster — working both over OBD and on the bench with dedicated cables and adapters. It is commonly used to clone a failed ECU or TCU to a replacement unit, reset and repair crash-locked airbag modules by clearing crash data, and read/write EEPROM and flash on a range of common controllers. Independent workshops and module-repair specialists favour it for gearbox and ECU cloning and SRS reset without needing several separate tools. It runs on OBDStar's own app ecosystem with subscription updates that add new module IDs.
Where the DC706 clones and reads/writes control units, Softechpro focuses on editing engine-ECU firmware — DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off modules and checksum correction across roughly 1,400 firmwares — so it complements the DC706's cloning and airbag work rather than duplicating it.
