Nistune is a Nissan-specific tuning system that combines a daughterboard (or, on later 32/64-bit ECUs, a feature key) installed in the factory ECU with Windows software that reads, edits and reflashes the OEM maps in real time. It targets classic and 1990s–2000s Nissan/Infiniti ECUs — SR20DET, RB20/25/26, VG30, KA24, CA18, VQ and more — letting tuners modify fuel, timing, VTC, rev limits, MAF scaling and injector/AFM settings while the engine runs, then save to the board. It preserves factory driveability features and Consult diagnostics. Nistune is popular for keeping the stock ECU on Japanese performance and drift builds. Unlike a standalone, it edits the factory Nissan calibration — conceptually similar to OEM reflashing, but Nissan-specific.
Nistune and Softechpro share a philosophy — editing the factory ECU calibration rather than replacing it — but cover different families: Nistune is dedicated to classic Nissan petrol ECUs, while Softechpro focuses on modern European diesel/petrol platforms with automated DPF/EGR/DTC-off and checksum correction. Complementary coverage, not parity.
