Data Logging & Analysis
National Instruments VeriStand is the full-name reference to NI's real-time testing software used to create hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators, real-time data-acquisition systems and automated test benches. It runs deterministic execution on NI real-time targets such as PXI and CompactRIO, integrates compiled models (including from Simulink and other tools), maps physical and simulated I/O, and provides operator screens, alarms and stimulus profiles. In automotive controller development, teams use it to place an ECU under test against a simulated engine or vehicle plant, log its behavior and execute reproducible validation sequences. It is manufacturer- and vehicle-agnostic, defined by the engineer's model and channel configuration rather than a fixed target, and is a test/measurement environment, not a calibration or tuning tool.
As NI's real-time HIL/test platform, VeriStand belongs to controller validation, not aftermarket tuning. Softechpro edits firmware images and corrects checksums, so it operates in a completely different domain and does not replace it.
