Immo & Key Programming
An MQB48 Tool targets the VAG MQB immobilizer generation that uses Megamos AES (ID48) transponder keys, common on earlier MQB models. It reads the immo/component-protection data shared between the instrument cluster and engine ECU — via OBD or bench access — to program keys, perform all-keys-lost, add spare keys, and adapt replacement modules. This generation is generally more accessible than later MQB variants, and the tool focuses on correctly reading the immobilizer data and calculating what is needed to prepare AES keys. Users are VAG-focused auto locksmiths working on Golf 7-era vehicles and their Audi, Skoda and Seat equivalents. Correct extraction and alignment of the immo data across the cluster and ECU are required for the vehicle to accept the newly learned key.
Softechpro does not program MQB keys or immo data, so it complements rather than replaces the MQB48 Tool. It handles the engine-ECU tuning side — DTC-off and emissions modules with automatic checksum correction — separately from key work.
