Bench / BSL / Boot Tool
The Moates QuarterHorse is a hardware device that plugs into the J3 diagnostic port of Ford EEC-IV and EEC-V ECUs to provide real-time tuning emulation and data acquisition. Instead of the ECU running its fixed calibration chip, the QuarterHorse feeds it a calibration from the device's memory that a tuner can change live, so edits made in TunerPro RT take effect immediately without pulling and reburning a chip. It also captures the ECU's data stream for logging and analysis. This makes it a favorite for tuning classic and Fox-body-era Fords and other EEC-based vehicles on the bench or road. It works hand-in-hand with TunerPro RT via ADX/XDF definitions and is a cornerstone of the older-Ford DIY tuning community.
The QuarterHorse is specialized bench/real-time emulation hardware for legacy Ford EEC ECUs; Softechpro is modern desktop software for EU diesel emissions/DTC-off modules with checksum correction. They address entirely different eras and platforms, and Softechpro does not replace dedicated emulation hardware.
