MHD Flasher is a smartphone-based flashing and datalogging application for BMW. Using a compatible OBD-II Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapter, it flashes off-the-shelf and custom maps directly to the DME, switches between stored maps, streams live gauges and records logs, all without a laptop. It is best known for the N54, N55 and S55 turbocharged engines and has expanded to B58 and others. Users can run MHD off-the-shelf maps or load custom calibrations built by MHD-supported tuners. It also reads and clears fault codes and can enable features such as burble/pops on some platforms. It is popular in the BMW enthusiast community for affordable, phone-based tuning.
MHD handles BMW-specific read/write and off-the-shelf maps from a phone, while Softechpro works on the firmware file across roughly 1,400 firmwares, applying emissions and DTC-off modules with checksum correction over a broader multi-brand scope. They are not substitutes.
