ECU Editor / Map Editor
A MED9 Suite targets Bosch MED9, a gasoline Motronic direct-injection ECU widely used in the mid-to-late 2000s, notably on VAG 1.4, 1.8, and 2.0 TFSI and related petrol engines, typically based on the Infineon C167/TriCore architecture. Tuners use it to edit boost, ignition, lambda, load, and torque-limiter maps, remove speed limiters, and apply Stage 1 and 2 petrol tuning, then recalculate MED9's checksums so the edited calibration is accepted. Reading and writing is usually done over OBD or on the bench depending on the MED9 sub-variant such as MED9.1 or 9.5.10. As a gasoline platform it is well documented, with established map packs and definitions. The suite covers file editing while a separate flasher performs the ECU read and write.
Softechpro carries MED9 firmwares in its catalog and can apply Stage tuning and DTC-off edits with automatic checksum correction; it edits the file while separate hardware handles the MED9 read and write.
