Data Logging & Analysis
Wintax is Magneti Marelli Motorsport's data-acquisition and analysis software, used to review telemetry logged by Marelli motorsport ECUs, loggers and dashes. It has a long history in top-level racing, notably Formula and rally programmes that ran Marelli electronics. Engineers import recorded channels, overlay laps, create maths channels and study engine and chassis behaviour against distance and time. Wintax pairs with Marelli's Vision calibration environment: Vision configures and calibrates the ECU, while Wintax handles post-session data analysis. It is designed for high channel counts and professional workflows, offering plots, reports and lap-comparison tooling. As an analysis package it reads logged data and does not write ECU calibrations.
Wintax analyses motorsport data and has no bearing on OEM ECU editing, so it does not compete with Softechpro; the two only coexist in a workshop that both services production ECUs and runs Marelli-equipped race cars.
