Bench / BSL / Boot ToolAlientechWindows + bench/boot hardware

K-TAG is a bench and boot-mode ECU programmer from the Italian company Alientech. Unlike OBD flashers it connects directly to the engine or transmission control unit on the workbench, using BDM, JTAG, boot (BSL) and bench connections to read and write the microcontroller flash and EEPROM. It targets a very wide range of Bosch, Siemens/Continental, Delphi, Marelli and Denso ECUs, including protected units that cannot be fully accessed over the diagnostic port. Tuners use it to obtain a complete, unlocked firmware dump for editing and to write modified maps back. It is licensed through Alientech's protocol/credit system and is a staple of professional remap and ECU-repair workshops handling cars, motorcycles and light commercials.

What KTAG Service Tool is used for

Where Softechpro fits

K-TAG obtains the unlocked bench/boot firmware dump that Softechpro then edits — applying DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off modules, Stage changes via credits and checksum correction — before you write it back. Softechpro is a file-editing complement, not a replacement for K-TAG's bench hardware.
