ECU Flash Tool
In the tuning world KESS (Alientech KESS/KESS3) is the OBD-port programming tool of Alientech's toolset, managed through the K-Suite software. It reads and writes engine and transmission ECUs directly via the diagnostic connector on a very wide range of cars, motorcycles, trucks, agricultural and marine vehicles, covering Bosch, Siemens/Continental, Delphi, Marelli, Denso and other ECU families. Professional tuners use it to back up the original file, send it for modification such as stage tuning or DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC edits, and flash the changed calibration back. KESS3 additionally adds bench and boot modes. It is one of the most common OBD flashing tools in professional workshops. Note that KESSY can also mean VW's keyless system; here it denotes the Alientech OBD tool.
KESS is a hardware read/write interface, while Softechpro is the software that modifies the file in between, applying DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off modules and correcting checksums across roughly 1,400 firmwares, so it pairs naturally with a KESS-style flashing tool.
