ECU Flash Tool
KESS (KESS3 and the earlier KESSv2) is Alientech's OBD and bench/boot ECU programmer. KESSv2 works primarily through the vehicle's OBD-II port to read and write engine and gearbox ECUs, while KESS3 adds direct bench and boot connections and extends coverage to cars, trucks, agricultural and marine ECUs and TCUs. It handles Bosch, Continental, Delphi, Marelli, Denso and other controllers, managing the read, checksum and write cycle and the protocol handling automatically. Chip-tuning shops use it to extract the stock file, send it for modification and flash the result back. Access is governed by Alientech's licence and protocol-credit model, and it is one of the most widely used professional flashing tools in Europe.
KESS handles the OBD or bench read and write; Softechpro sits in between, modifying the extracted file with DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off modules and auto-correcting the checksum. The two are complementary — Softechpro does not flash the ECU itself.
