ECU Editor / Map Editor
"Hitachi ECU Tool" refers to software used to read, write and tune engine control units built by Hitachi Automotive Systems. Hitachi ECUs are common in Nissan/Infiniti and Subaru applications and some other Japanese platforms, often on Renesas-based microcontrollers. Tuners access the ECU through OBD, bench or boot connections, then edit maps for fueling, ignition timing, boost and torque limiters before writing the modified firmware back with corrected checksums. As with other Japanese ECUs, some units store data in protected regions and require specific read/write and checksum handling. As a generic category term, this names the identification, read/edit/write workflow for Hitachi engine ECUs rather than a single branded product.
On supported Hitachi firmware, Softechpro Solutions can apply DTC-off and other applicable modules and recalculate checksums after read-out, working from the file the tool provides rather than reading the ECU directly.
