GM Global B is General Motors' newer global electronic architecture, rolling out from around 2019, first on models like the C8 Corvette and newer trucks and SUVs, and designed with far stronger cybersecurity than Global A. For tuners it means encrypted and authenticated communications, secure gateways and signed calibrations that make traditional read/write and reflashing much harder. Accessing Global B ECMs and TCMs often requires bench or bootloader methods, specialized unlocks, or waiting for tool vendors to develop support, and OTA-updatable modules complicate the picture. Identifying a vehicle as Global B is critical because the standard J2534/OBD approaches used on Global A frequently do not work. It represents the current frontier of difficulty in GM tuning.
Global B vehicles require specialized hardware unlocks outside Softechpro's scope; as software, Softechpro cannot bypass GM's secure gateways and focuses instead on the European firmware families it already supports. It makes no Global B capability claim.
