Bench / BSL / Boot Tool
Flex Boot is the bootloader/BSL mode of the MagicMotorsport Flex, used when an ECU or TCU must be forced into boot mode to read or write protected memory. This means opening the module and connecting boot pins, and often a reset/BSL line, so Flex can access flash and EEPROM that OBD and standard bench cannot reach. Boot mode is common for tricore-based Bosch, Continental and other controllers with locked or password-protected access, and for recovering bricked units. It is the most invasive Flex mode and demands correct pinout and sometimes resistor or soldering work. ECU specialists rely on Flex Boot for full clones, virtual reading and unlocking otherwise inaccessible controllers.
Flex Boot obtains the complete firmware image; Softechpro Solutions then applies emissions/DTC modules and Stage maps and recalculates the checksum on that image. Softechpro does not perform boot access, it processes the file Flex extracts.
