Immo & Key Programming
A FEM Tool works with the BMW FEM (Front Electronic Module) and related BDC used on F-series vehicles, which combine body electronics with the vehicle's access/immobilizer security. It reads the module's flash and EEPROM — typically on the bench — to program keys, perform all-keys-lost, prepare a used FEM for reuse, and pre-code a replacement so it pairs with the DME and other modules. Because FEM programming usually requires reading and writing the module out of the car and preserving the ISN link, the process is more involved than OBD-only jobs. Users are auto locksmiths and BMW module-repair specialists. Correct backup of the original data and accurate flash/EEPROM handling are essential, as an incomplete FEM write can immobilize the vehicle.
Softechpro does not program FEM/BDC modules or BMW keys, so it does not replace the FEM Tool. It fits alongside it, addressing engine-ECU DTC-off and emissions work with automatic checksum correction on supported BMW firmwares.
