ECU Editor / Map Editor
WinOLS, made by EVC electronic in Germany, is the de facto industry-standard software for editing ECU calibration files, known as OLS projects. The demo version lets users explore the interface and features while saving, exporting and some functions are restricted. WinOLS opens raw ECU dumps, helps locate maps automatically or with DAMOS/A2L data, displays them as 2D/3D tables with axis interpretation, and supports professional map editing for tuning. The demo is commonly used for evaluation and training before purchasing a full license, and it can read files produced by tools such as KESS and K-TAG. Because it is limited, the demo is not used for production tuning but demonstrates WinOLS's map-finding and editing capabilities.
WinOLS, even in demo form, is a manual expert map editor, whereas Softechpro automates common DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off edits and checksum correction across roughly 1,400 firmwares, so it can speed up routine module work while WinOLS remains the tool for deep custom map calibration.
