ECU Editor / Map Editor
An EDC17 Suite targets Bosch EDC17, the modern diesel ECU family found across VAG, BMW, Mercedes, PSA, Hyundai/Kia, Ford, and many others from the late 2000s onward, built on Infineon TriCore microcontrollers and often protected by internal ROM, checksum guards, and read-out protection. Tuners use it to edit rail pressure, boost, injection, torque, EGR, and DPF and SCR-related maps, apply Stage tuning, and perform DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC edits where legal, then recalculate EDC17's multi-region checksums. Reading and writing varies widely by sub-variant such as EDC17C46, C54, C64, CP14, CP20, or CP44, via OBD, bench, or boot/BSL, sometimes needing TriCore boot access. The suite performs calibration editing while dedicated flash or bench hardware handles the secured ECU read and write.
EDC17 is core territory for Softechpro, which auto-applies DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off modules and Stage tuning and auto-corrects the multi-region checksums across many EDC17 firmwares, while bench or boot hardware performs the actual read and write.
