Standalone ECU / Engine Management
The ECUMaster EMU Classic is the original EMU standalone ECU, a low-cost 35-pin controller tuned through ECUMaster's free EMU Windows software. It offers sequential or semi-sequential fuel and ignition, boost control, basic motorsport strategies, wideband integration and internal logging, making it a long-standing budget choice for turbocharged four-cylinder swaps and entry-level race cars. While later superseded by the more capable EMU Black, the Classic retains a large installed base and shares the familiar EMU tuning workflow of table-based fuel and ignition maps. It remains a practical option for simpler builds where the Black's extra I/O and processing are unnecessary, and it integrates with ECUMaster's wideband and CAN accessories, giving budget-focused tuners a proven, well-documented platform.
The EMU Classic is a factory-ECU replacement; Softechpro operates on retained OEM ECUs for DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off and checksum correction, a distinct workflow that a shop chooses per project rather than in place of the other.
