The ECUMaster DET3 is a dedicated detonation (knock) detection device, and DET3 Manager is its Windows configuration and monitoring software. The DET3 reads one or two factory-style knock sensors, applies configurable band-pass filtering per cylinder and RPM, and outputs audible knock (headphones), a visual gauge/LED, and analog/CAN signals a tuner or ECU can act on. In DET3 Manager the tuner sets sensor frequency, gain, windows and thresholds, and watches per-cylinder knock levels live while mapping. It's used on the dyno and road to catch detonation on high-boost and E85 builds before damage occurs. It complements — rather than replaces — the engine-management ECU, acting as a safety instrument during tuning.
Softechpro adjusts factory OEM ECU calibrations and auto-corrects checksums; the DET3 is a hardware knock monitor used live at the dyno. They sit at different stages — Softechpro on the firmware/reflash side, the DET3 as a safety instrument during mapping — and never overlap.
