Bench / BSL / Boot Tool
ECU Cloning Tool covers the hardware-plus-software setups used to duplicate an engine control unit onto a like-for-like replacement. The process reads the donor ECU's full memory — flash program, calibration and the EEPROM that stores immobiliser data, VIN and odometer — and writes an exact copy to a second ECU with the same part and software number. The cloned unit inherits the original's identity, so the car generally starts and runs without any immobiliser re-coding or dealer visit. It is a staple of ECU-repair services for replacing failed or flood-damaged modules. Reading and writing may be done via the OBD port on older units or on the bench/boot for protected controllers such as Bosch EDC17 and MED17, where security must first be bypassed.
Softechpro Solutions does not clone or program ECUs; it works on the resulting dump, applying supported tuning, emissions and DTC-off modules and correcting checksums. It is a file-processing complement to a cloning setup, not a replacement for it.
